I have to confess this one took hours and hours. I so wanted to ensure I wasn’t preaching but also to truly represent the needs of the community. We all need our crew. I am delighted we are in one. 🌈
You two would light up any room. Thank you…your insights and beautiful writing stop me in my tracks and make me think about your words and experiences for ages afterwards…
Beautiful writing as always! First thing Monday I am finding a beautiful rainbow poster for the nursery so all families know they are welcome and loved. And I will think you every time I pass it.
Wonderfully insightful and wise words Mel. A few years ago i attended a focus group by Macmillan which was gathering information on the experiences of the LGBTQI+ community re cancer, with a woman called Chris Brown. OUTpatients sounds brilliant! and yes it's not just how we are, but who we are. Thanks so much for your compassion and advocacy whilst managing your own experience and reaching out to support and inform others.
Dear Jackie, thank you for your words. Great to hear that Macmillan have been championing the community for a while. They have some helpful docs on website. 💛💫
Darling Mel, another incredible piece of writing. Managing to be personal, universal, brave, yet measured. I’m sure this one will inform and unite and comfort so many. So proud of you ⭐️
Thank you for continuing to provide us with full-bodied writing that serves to widen our lenses with each sentence. Heart, mind, consciousness truly expanded - thanks our Mel! xx
Thank you so much for unpicking the layers of the rainbow cake. Acknowledgement, compassion, kindness. So important. I cried. And laughed at the joy in your photo! Thank you for sharing through your incredible words. Love you so much. X ❤️🌈
I lean into your words into so many emotions Mel. You were always meant to write. Who knew cancer would be the ink in your pen. I remember so many conversations that we have shared but non more than a phone call with a declaration of your love for Sarah - it all makes so much sense. Mel being Mel - I see you and I believe in you x
Mel, what a lovely piece of writing, I always love your stories and ponderings and although I don’t have first hand experience of this it gave me lots of things to think about and I enjoyed it immensely! X
Thank you for shining a light and for highlighting the prejudice that many people face when receiving cancer care. Beautifully scripted , compassionate and honest. Thank you for bearing your soul, you beautiful human 🤍💙 💚💜💛🩷🧡
I hope this is read by medical professionals far and wide. So important ❤️
Thank you sweetheart. Will make it one of my missions! 🙏🏽🤸🏽🌈
100%!
Mel. You blow my mind. ❤️
Is it both cathartic and exhausting,
to craft such heartfelt, moving, intelligent, educational, creative and inspiring writing?
I’m so proud to be part of your ‘crew’.
Love you.

Beautiful as always and very deep questions to consider… How much of this power connection and compassion are involve in the healing process?
Thanks so much Mel
Exactly Damian, I would say it's vital to feel seen, to connect. Compassionate care matters. xx
